Revival under the Kakatiya Dynasty
During the reign of the Kakatiya rulers (12th–14th century CE), many temples in Telangana and Andhra flourished with distinctive architectural styles. The Santana Venugopala Swamy Temple at Balapur was one such shrine that was either established or revived under their patronage.
